Internet Marketing Tips: How to Use Alt Tags to Boost SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

Use these simple techniques to GREATLY boost your “SEO” (Search Engine Optimization) and drive more traffic and sales to your site. This can really raise your page ranking in Google, Yahoo, MSN and other search engines.
Image representing Google as depicted in Crunc...ALT (tags) literally stand for “Attributes,” It tells the viewer what they would be seeing if your image actually appeared. But, you can put whatever you want in this description tag that best suits your SEO (Search Engine Optimization) needs. So always try to get your chosen keywords into these descriptions.
So if I have a picture of a briefcase on my website (http://www.advancedtrainingseminars.com) the ALT tag might read: “Advanced Training Seminars, St. Petersburg, FL, training, seminars – Briefcase”. See how I got my keywords in there (sometimes twice – clever, huh?) and put the actual item viewed last? Also be sure to name your picture something that has your keywords in it too (This will help boost your “SEO” and your “Search Engine Ranking”. So lets review:
  • Use ALT Tags
  • Include Keywords in ALT Tags
  • Put Keywords into the image name
ADDED BONUS! Using the strategy will also get your images listed in the “image search engines.” This could lead to more people who are searching for images checking out your site too!

SEO Tips For Small Business Owners (Part 1)

Start with Great Keywords! Don't try to rank for single keywords like "Dentist," this is just too generic and you will literally be competing with millions of websites. Use what are called "long tail keywords," phrases that contain 3-4 words that form a phrase/search term. An example would be "Tampa Dental Offices."
This will give you two huge benefits:
1) A much higher search engine ranking and a higher position on the search engine pages.
2) Your website visitors will be much more likely to be looking for what you are selling and more interested in buying.

How to Beat Sleep Problems & Insomnia

Have insomnia? Just want to get a better nights sleep? Try these tips and I think you will see that they can make a huge difference. Take it from me as a Therapist, these strategies work!

Avoid alcohol, caffeine, chocolate and high sugar intake. Do this at least 6 hours before bed.

Herbal supplements, valerian root, kava and melatonin all work great! Sleepy Time tea or chamomile tea also works for some.

Prepare the room. Goldilocks was right! Not to hot. Not to cold. Just right! A cold room tenses your muscles and irritates your system, waking you. A room that is even 2-3 degrees too warm can subtly dehydrate you, and wakes you to get a drink.

Make sure the room is as free of sound and light as possible. The smallest amount of sound, or even the tiniest amount of light is known to wake people who are sensitive.

Get your head examined! Many people with sleep problems also suffer from anxiety, depression, addiction, obsessive-compulsive disorder, sleep apnea, etc. They wonder why they can’t solve their sleep problems, and the answer is that you have to solve the other problems first. Writers shy away from this obvious topic, I have not seen one writer mention it yet in my lifetime! They are cheating you and lying to you by omission. Get to a Therapist to get checked out if you suspect you may have any psychological problems, and then take care of them.

We should prepare for sleep. Don’t do anything stimulating for at least 30 minutes before bed. Sorry, that includes TV and the computer. Read a book for God’s sake! Do something relaxing, meditate, write a letter, go for a walk, just sit and reflect, listen to some soft music, take a warm bath, you know the drill.

Keep to a sleep schedule, go to bed and get up at the same time each day. Its hard at first, but sleep is a CYCLE, it needs uniformity and predictability. Don’t take naps either, this throws off the cycle, and is one of the worst things you can do if you have a sleep problem.

Avoid sleep medication, these are for people who rarely have sleep problems (once a week or less). Is this you? Sleep meds give you a better nights sleep tonight and a worse nights sleep tomorrow. The total result is you lose more sleep with the meds than without if you have serious insomnia, not just occasional sleep trouble. Don’t play this game.

Try self-hypnosis CDs. If you can find a good one, they work great! They perfectly relax you and encourage even better sleep the next night. Many people who don’t respond to anything else find that this works for them.

Avoid Arguments before bedtime, they will keep your mind buzzing all night. If you have an “obsessive thought” you just can’t get rid of, write it down and put it on the night stand. Many people find that this helps them let go of the thought. Little known fact: it is impossible to sleep while you are thinking.

Networking - Fastest Way To Boost Your Career!

Networking –
Few people fully realize that a good network of contacts can take years off meeting your financial/career goals and can bring benefits you haven’t even thought of yet, but will be glad you have when the time comes. There is a huge population of people out there who have made their fortunes from networking effectively.

Examine your own life, I’ll bet you owe the bulk of everything you have, and everything you are, to a small number of influential people that you can easily count on one hand. Although everyone likes to think they can do it on their own – we can’t. The reality is that we are not Independent – we are Interdependent. It is our interdependence that makes us strong, and good people help us to grow and build our strengths. I would not want to be independent if I could. Why would I want to cut that many good people out of my life?

In actuality, most people are successful in direct one to one proportion to how many people know them, and like them. Likeability is huge!. We like to do business with people we like, we help people we like, we hire people we like, promote people we like and give breaks to people we like. Get the idea? The list goes on and on.

Networking helps us to realize what opportunities are out there and gives us the opportunity to help people and advance in ways we would never have thought of. Being good isn’t enough when your network is limited. Think of a limited network, as limited options. Get good at networking, or get good at going through life trying to live off the scraps instead of living in abundance.
Nobody teaches us how to network – but it is a key life skill. This is a case where others are not excluding you – you are! Get in their and just be yourself, draw on what is best in you, come to serve, and you will do great!

Look, you could write an entire book on how to network, but my goal is simply to give you a sense of how important this area is and point you in the right direction. Get out there and get some books on networking and the time spent studying them will come back to you a thousand fold.

That's it for now!

Your First Time Management Tip!

Learn to Speed Read -

I wish I had learned this tip before I finished the bulk of my college education. This one tip might have given me back a year or so of my life. In today’s competitive society it is hard to keep up with all the information pouring in unless we can speed read. People are also very impressed with speed readers and see them as more intelligent (simply because they can’t do it). I used a software program called “Eye-Q” - it currently sells for around $200, and is well worth the price. You can buy a Deluxe Edition for about $250 with 10 licenses. This entire course is 12 sessions of 7-minutes each! Do the math, you’ll be speed-reading in under an hour and a half worth of training. With this amount of training, it’s typical to double your reading speed, some people do significantly better. The other course to try is the classic Evelyn Woods program, but it’s slower (and I hate that!) You can attend a class either in person or online, or you can buy a DVD and video set, but it is very expensive (I hate that too!) (approximately $700).

That's it for now!
